All students who sign up for the 3-year diploma program will all receive instruction in the general studies portion of the program, which focuses on self-development and communication skills, necessary for working on oneself and with clients.

Students will then all specialize in the modality of their choice- either astrology, earth spirit medicine, or the crystalline gemstone therapist program.

All Northern Star students who complete their diploma programs will receive a diploma in integrative therapy, specializing in their specific modality- i.e. earth spirit medicine.

Please check the general studies and programs in our course guide to see which individual classes you can enroll in.

All students who sign up for the 3-year diploma program will all receive instruction in the integrative (general) studies portion of the program, which focuses on self-development and communication skills, necessary for working on oneself and with clients.

Students will then specialize in the modality of their choice- either astrology, earth spirit medicine or the crystalline gemstone therapist program. Students who sign up for hypnotherapy are in an eighteen-month certificate program that does not include general (integrative) studies.
Northern Star is becoming more multi-disciplinary- in astrology you can now add onto introductory astrology with an advanced counseling astrology stream, which includes hypnotherapy or specialize in medical astrology, depending on your passion.

All Northern Star students who fully complete their diploma programs will receive a diploma in integrative therapy, specializing in their specific modality- i.e. astrology.

Completing a certificate program means you have successfully finished all courses and requirements for your specialty program (Earth Spirit Medicine, Astrology, Intuitive Counselling, Crystalline Gemstone Therapist, or Tarot). It differs from the diploma, in that it does not include the General Studies hours. You will have a certificate in your modality, but not be an Integrated Therapist.

We all think science is fascinating and use fact and evidence-based approaches when appropriate. We do, however; feel intuition has been under utilized in the regular school system and in society, leaving most people unsure of how to access their own knowing. We emphasize the development and recognition of this skill, which you can use in all areas of your life.

Our programs are designed around a wholistic approach. When science and the mystical reunite there is an opportunity to experience wholeness.

Because we are a private school, credits are not transferable to mainstream institutions. In the past, there were few if any colleges that offered the depth of material we offer in Canada, or possibly anywhere. We teach skills necessary to understand the modality of your choice and offer the opportunity for students to conduct case studies or field placements to practice their new skills. At this point, we do not know of other institutes who offer as much theory and experience in these fields. Students who have gone on to develop careers indicate receiving acknowledgment and respect in their fields.

“After graduating I feel that the opportunities are endless. I have the confidence and experiential education to further my clinical work… The college and the professors have a great reputation in the community; this has shown in the increasing referrals and my clientele’s confidence towards me. There is an emphasis on both education and spiritual development.” ~ Integrative Therapist, Elaine Doucette.”

We cannot place students in jobs, rather they must create their own. In many of our programs, students will have work placement to help understand the market and get a feel for what they enjoy. Students, who wish to apply their knowledge toward a career, will have the opportunity to tailor make a job, just right for them.

The students are tested in various ways depending on the program, sometimes formally, at times through presentations. They gain experience in working with clients through case studies and field placements. In some of the courses, they write thesis papers about an area of study they are passionate about and wish to pursue in their lives or careers.

Courses from a mystical college may not seem as practical as accounting – but certain people find great alignment by matching what they love to what they do. So the need is not always obvious, especially to someone’s spouse. It can, however, be damaging to work at what does not inspire you- regardless of the money.

As a matter of a fact “The biggest mistake people make in life is not trying to make a living at doing what they most enjoy,” says Malcolm Forbes of Forbes magazine. In the United States, only 50 percent of employees say they are satisfied with their work- Canada is probably similar. According to Forbes this significantly affects their happiness level. Sometimes passion sparks both satisfaction and profit.

In the past after spouses’ and family members have seen how students have grown they have enrolled in some of our courses.

The Cost of the service is about $5,000.00 per year depending on the program. Earth spirit medicine is slightly more, due to extra project hours. Individuals not enrolled in the programs can also take specific courses from programs that do not have pre-requisites. See program- registration and tuition fees for cost.
